1. Who runs this site

solarpaybackcheck.com is operated by Techpillars Oy, a company registered in Finland ("we", "us"). We are an information and referral service. We are not a solar installer, contractor, lender, or utility, and we are not licensed to give financial, tax, engineering or legal advice.

2. What the estimates are

Everything the calculator produces is a modelled estimate, not a quote, an offer, or a guarantee of savings. The estimates are generated from:

• the ZIP code and monthly bill figure you type in, which we do not verify;
• typical weather data for your area from the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory's PVWatts model;
• state average residential electricity prices published by the US Energy Information Administration;
• general assumptions about system cost, roof orientation and system losses, all of which are listed on the results screen.

We have not seen your roof, your electrical panel, your shading, your utility's tariff, or your credit. Any of those can change the result substantially. Treat the numbers as a starting point for a conversation with an installer, and nothing more.

3. No federal tax credit is included

The 30% federal residential clean energy credit expired for systems purchased after 31 December 2025. Our estimates therefore do not include it. State, local and utility incentives may still exist where you live and are not included either, so your real cost may be lower than we show.

4. Being contacted by solar companies

If you complete the form on step 3 and tick the consent box, you are giving express written consent for us and the solar companies we work with to contact you at the phone number and email address you provided, including by automated calls and text messages. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any text to opt out, or email us to be removed.

We are not responsible for what a solar company does after we introduce you to it, including what it quotes, how it sells, whether it turns up, or how it handles your data. Any contract you sign is between you and that company.

5. Acceptable use

Do not submit anyone else's personal details without their permission, submit false information, attempt to overload or probe the site, scrape it automatically, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access and delete submissions that break this rule.

6. Availability

We do not promise the site will always be available or error free. Third party services we depend on, such as the NREL weather model, can be unavailable. When that happens the calculator falls back to state averages and says so on screen.

7. Intellectual property

The design, text and code of this site belong to Techpillars Oy. You may print or save your own report for personal use. You may not republish the site's content commercially without permission.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on an estimate, from a decision to buy or not buy solar, or from your dealings with any solar company introduced through this site. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.
